HALL PASS
Start with one room. Build your crew. Risk the whole school. Thanks for testing — a short first run and one useful report help us improve the game.
▶ PLAY IN BROWSERNew here? The player FAQ covers controls, the iPhone motion prompt, and how saves work across devices.
GETTING SET UP
iPhone: open the game in Safari, tap Share ▸ Add to Home Screen, then play from the icon — that's the only way iPhone allows true fullscreen. Flip the silent switch off or use headphones for sound.
Android: play the current beta in Chrome, or use its menu ▸ Add to Home screen. The older APK is build 0.1.0+c1cf1ea from September 9 and does not include the current browser changes. Please use the browser for this beta.
Desktop: WASD moves, mouse aims, hold LMB to fire, SHIFT flash-steps, SPACE fires your Domain, E uses your special and Q calls your shikigami. Tab opens banked level-ups; C switches teammates (hold to choose). ESC pauses and releases mouse lock. Gamepads work too — use Options → Controls → How to Play.
WHAT TO PLAY
- First session: New Run → Room Run → Ren → The Yard. Finish the first Quiz (3 minutes) and return to the Club. Were movement, Flash Step, level-ups and banking clear without help?
- Build a hand: open Deck, inspect a card, add or replace one, and play again. Phones use separate Collection and Hand tabs. Tell us if you understand what changed.
- Take a risk: try Push On through Midterm (6 minutes total) and Final (12 minutes total). Your build carries forward; your unbanked haul stays at risk. Inspect any boss weapon or card drops before leaving.
- Continue across rooms: after a Final, try the next available room with the same build. Or start a School Run in the Yard to attempt all ten rooms. A full school currently takes about two hours of combat; Suspend Run lets you continue later.
- Test an interruption: pause, lock your phone, then return. During a School Run or Room Chain, also try Suspend Run at a checkpoint and Continue Run after reopening. Check your hand, weapons, Coins and crew.
WHAT WE MOST NEED ANSWERED
- Mana — do purple drops and teammate switching give you enough chances to use specials? A ready Flash Step should work even with no mana.
- Minute 6+ — when the screen fills up, can you still read where you are and what's about to hit you?
- The difficulty curve — does the late-night ramp feel like a crescendo or a brick wall? Where exactly did a run start feeling unfair?
- Builds — do upgrade choices feel meaningfully different run to run, or is there one obvious pick every time?
- Decisions — is it clear what you keep by returning to the Club, and what you risk by pushing on?
HOW TO REPORT
Open Options → Club → Field Report from the title or pause menu. It includes your device and build information. Tell us the room, roughly when, what you expected, and what happened. If you cannot reach the menu, use the feedback board. Please do not post your private Club Card code.
BETA NOTES
- iPhone Safari shows browser chrome unless you add to Home Screen (Apple limitation, not a bug).
- Progress is local to each browser/app unless you link a card in Options → Club → Club Card. Keep your code private and save a copy before clearing browser data.
- Physical-phone performance is still being tested. Please report sustained slowdown, especially after several rooms; include your phone and OS version.
- Purchases, ads and native-app distribution are separate from this browser beta. You do not need to buy anything to test.
